Tell Me a Story is an art show celebrating the power of narrative. Each piece is inspired by a story—personal memories, cultural myths, everyday moments, or imagined worlds—translated into visual form.
From the Depot Art Gallery artist Mary Clark:

There was a photo from the Times somewhere online and I painted this painting from the photo. Hurricane Sandy had hit NYC. Someone heard the cat meowing and went out to search for the cat. He found the mother cat and all her new babies soaking wet huddled up against a building. He brought them into his apartment, dried them off, warmed them and gave the mother food. She fed the kittens. When the storm subsided, he took them to a shelter; when the kittens were ready for adoption, he adopted one.
In the original painting I did from the story I had 9 kittens, that is how many she had.
