Photography
In 2006, I abandoned my much-used color film darkroom and embraced the digital world of photography. I couldn’t be more delighted, not only with the results of the printing but in the endless possibilities through post-processing creativity.
This has been my workflow recently: I carefully compose a scene in camera, be it a harmony in people, scenery, unusual lighting or angle. In viewing my work in the computer, I judge whether I captured the ‘vision’ I originally saw. Would post processing further that expression I saw? Would it lend itself to another layer of information? At this point, it is a judgment call on my part whether if it enhances or not. (There is always the delete button!) How different this is at this point than my darkroom artwork! Think of all the possibilities now, all the exciting avenues a photographer can explore!
My photography is on display in four venues in the Denver area and is selling through my website. Recently my work has received many awards and my photography has graced a newly published book and musical CD album cover.
