Watercolor
It was 2020, and COVID was making itself known in my world. I had just spent three weeks in Kauai and Oahu visiting my family. A fairly recent retiree from the Bemis Library, I had lots of free time on my hands and needed to widen my circle of friends and find something to do to occupy my time and enrich my life.
Enter Buck Center and Betty Harris, their watercolor instructor. In-person classes soon became Zoom classes, and we—of Monday class fame—hung in there and learned about paper, brushes, mixing colors, and different techniques.
A few years later, I joined the Littleton Fine Arts Guild and Heritage Fine Arts Guild with a relatively small body of work, covering subjects from my home in Hawaii to almost anything else that crossed my path of interest—and my handy phone camera.
What you see here is a compilation of different phases of this journey and, perhaps, my favorite subject: places in Littleton, the chosen home of my heart.
