Oil, mixed media
I seem to always be painting a canvas in my thoughts. While oil painting was my first love, I have recently developed a strong passion for mixed media, collage, and monoprints using gel printing plates.
My creative journey has followed my moves from the Midwest to the West Coast, the Great Lakes region, and now Colorado. During the 1980s and 1990s, I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I studied oil painting under various artists in Santa Cruz, Palo Alto, and San Mateo. I enjoyed collaborating with the Pacific Art League of Palo Alto and served on its Board of Directors.
In the late 1990s, I moved to Wisconsin, where I was inspired by the rural landscapes and became active in several groups, including the Appleton Art Guild and the Green Bay Art Colony, a group of female artists who exhibited annually at the Neville Public Museum.
I now reside in Colorado Springs and continue to be inspired by the state’s beauty. I exhibit my work regularly in Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs, and I have been a member of the Littleton Fine Arts Guild at the Depot since 2025.
I also illustrated The Magic in La Magdalena, a bilingual book written by my sister, Elizabeth. The story is set in the Park of La Magdalena on the north coast of Spain. In the book, the park comes to life as the sun goes down, revealing hidden treasures that we often miss at first glance. The book was completed in 2018.
