Seed bead jewelry and mosaic
Crafting and art have been my passion since childhood. I fondly remember visiting my grandmother and being encouraged to create with various materials, such as yarn, beads, buttons, and other items. This early experience nurtured my appreciation for handmade objects. I discovered natural stone, shell, and wooden beads, which led me to begin crafting necklaces.
After taking a hiatus to focus on family and work, I rediscovered my passion for beading. Initially, I began with simple stringing techniques, but soon developed an affinity for super-small seed beads, off-loom bead weaving, and bead embroidery. My current projects include creating beaded cabochon necklaces featuring domed shapes, such as fused glass, natural stones, and old buttons.
After retirement, and with newfound free time, I began to explore mosaics—developing my own method for cutting vintage China plates and setting them onto tables and cabinets. Further inspiration arose when I acquired an old violin, sparking my creativity and initiating my mosaic violin series. Since then, I have expanded my work to include guitars, banjos, and other musical instruments. I am passionate about repurposing vintage items into innovative and unexpected creations.
