Photography
A long time educator and arts advocate, Kathryn Winograd is a Colorado essayist, poet, and photographer, who divides her time between a high-mountain meadow cabin above Phantom Canyon and the suburbs near the South Platte riparian. Her books include Air Into Breath, an alternate for the Yale Series for Younger Poets and the winner of a Colorado Book Award, Slow Arrow: Unearthing the Frail Children, which received a Bronze Medal in Essay for the 2020 IPPY Awards, and her most recent hybrid book of prose poem/photography/prose, This Visible Speaking: Catching Light Through The Camera’s Eye, which was awarded a 2025 Eric Hoffer Book Award Honorable Mention.
After a COVID Christmas gift of a camera, Winograd began photographing the world around her. She is now a member of the Littleton Fine Arts Guild and Women’s Caucus for Art. Her photography has landed in several juried exhibits, a solo show, and on the cover and in the essays of online journals.
