MaryJo Wickstrom was born and raised on a farm in rural Minnesota. At an early age, she grew to love the beauty and colors of the nature that surrounded her. That’s why, today, landscapes, animals, and flowers are the focus and inspiration for most of her paintings. In creation, there is a never-ending palette of color and endless scenes to capture! It seems only natural that she named her studio “Colors of Creation”.
With a variety of artistic interests, MaryJo explored many types of art media but found that painting in acrylics and mixed media brings her the most joy. She continues to study painting and enjoys exploring new and challenging techniques through various private workshops.
Artist’s Statement: “It is my desire to not only capture the scenes that surround us, but to remind each of us to look for beauty in the details and colors of everyday life.”
