Biography
After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Art/Graphic Design Sally found she was drawn to color and geometric designs, which led her to an introductory class in stained glass. Years later she transferred her stained glass skills to glass mosaic garden stones. And then when her interest was piqued by seeing beautiful fused glass, she added a kiln to her studio. Now she combines fused glass creations with stained glass strips.
Sally captures an exciting blend of color and texture using traditional stained glass techniques with fused glass embellishments. Her inspiration comes primarily from the beauty and the allure of nature, but also from the glass itself. Different from traditional stained glass, she utilizes large pieces of glass to take advantage of all the colors and swirls inherent in the glass. These characteristics of glass become part of her designs.
All of her designs are original, and many of them have branches. These are real tree branches, covered with copper foil and solder.
