About the Artist
I have been painting for fifty years. Creativity is my life!
After obtaining three Art Education degrees, with a doctorate from Carnegie-Mellon University, I started creating art on my computer in the 80’s, as well as by hand. Now, with my new Surface Studio, a large digital tablet, I work many hours creating my digital paintings using my love of color and most importantly, creativity. In the summertime, I enjoy acrylic painting in my barn studio.
The theme of my body of work is creativity, of inner reality, of breaking barriers. My love of experimentation reveals itself in the variety of my works. Some styles look totally different from others, but the common theme is creative energy. As a person of spirit, my character shows through in the variety and strength of each work. Viewers will perceive their own images revealed in my work, based on their personal experience. No two people see the same painting!
My inspiration arises from daily life, from nature, from the energy all around me. Therefore, my work has a diverse quality, with the expression of energy at the core. I have experimented with various media and styles only to come back to the experience of pure creation. As a person focused on the spiritual aspects of life, I am most comfortable in simple awareness. It is in this state that I lose all track of time, focused on the image evolving before me. We have a dialogue, my images and I. When we have exhausted all the possibilities, the painting is finished.
